TechConnect 2012 TechConnect is a unique Technology event which is by the employees at Tavant Technologies. The setting is like a Trade show – each selected team gets an exhibit/stall. The teams use that space for demos, presentations, posters, diagrams, leaflets, quiz/contests, etc. to showcase their technical offerings and expertise. All the stalls would be simultaneously open for the duration of the event. They are then judged by a number of external judges on a series of merits like interaction, creativity, innovation and the demo that they show in their exhibits. TechConnect is a great opportunity to for each and every team to: Show case their cutting edge technical expertise Share a complex technical problem you solved on another day Know more about the project the rest of their colleagues are working on Learn about the latest and the greatest technologies used across various teams in Tavant

Trading made easy was the motto for the Capital Markets exhibit in this year’s TechConnect.
The theme showcased by the Capital Markets team was 'Trading Made Easy'. A trading game was built where Tavant employees could trade ideas instead of a specific stock. It started with the release of an IPO of ideas to the employees and was played across 3 days. The users had to choose & invest in an idea instead of following the time-consuming conventional methods. The trading team, at the back-end, then analyzed the stocks (based on social media interaction & sentiment analysis) that formed the basket for each of the ideas and picked the ones that made the most amount of money. A total of 8 ideas were put on offer, each idea consisting of 2-3 stocks. Gamification was also included, where bets were placed.

The trading game was extremely successful as 300+ employees registered for it and customers showed interest in trying it as a live product.
