This is my attempt at representing the Tavant Customer Appreciation week that happened in Nov 2012. I tried to capture the color and the taste of everything that happened and I hope that you all enjoy it to the fullest.

The Consumer Lending Practice Team
Tavant’s Consumer Lending Practice Team
represented two account and highlighted the ability to provide core competency
solutions in the financial sector. The team presented the technical challenges
faced by them, the solutions they provided and how each of the applications
helped achieve business goals & save costs. A game was developed which
showcased the various financial solutions that Tavant offers and the
corresponding applications developed by them. This game was a huge success with
more than 50 participants.
The team showcased a variety of products
like OPEN Credit Card, Home Connect (mortgage point-of-sale system),
Collections Web Portal (mortgage application streamlining), Suttons & Robertsons
(pawn broking application), etc. These were showcased by members of the team
namely Sendil, Aruna, Sandhya, Mohan,
Vishwanath, Harish, Yogesh and Mary.

Exhibit 3: Mobile Centre of Excellence (COE)
This team showcased applications for
various domains, platforms & devices like Apple iOS devices, Android
devices, BlackBerry
and Microsoft
Surface.
Trading, Media, Warranty Management, Manufacturing and Entertainment were some
of the applications that were presented. They were greatly appreciated by the
customers.
The main attraction of the exhibit was “Cross-platform
Technology”
using frameworks like Appcelerator
Titanium, SenchaTouch and PhoneGap.

Exhibit 4: PMO – Tavant’s Project Management Office
The PMO Team exhibited their key tools namely Tavant
Open Kitchen and Microsoft Project Server 2010.
Tavant Open Kitchen is a
one stop shop for the top management to know the complete information on the
status of the projects running in Tavant. It includes a Project Dashboard as
well a useful routine updates like weekly status of the project, milestones
achieved, feedback from clients, etc. It is developed using Microsoft
SharePoint and Microsoft Infopath. The
customers were delighted to learn the importance & the role the tool plays
in project management.
Microsoft Project Server 2010 was
presented to show how projects are administered in the company. A variety of
reports were also generated to show the versatility of the tool and the insight
the data would provide to the management.

: Interactive Entertainment
This team demonstrated the Faro Blitz
game. The visitors got a first-hand experience of playing this 19th
century game that combines elements of Poker, Roulette, and other
table-top casino games where the player would bet against a dealer using a single
deck of cards.
They also showed the SDK – which is a
standalone framework for capturing data on a mobile device and posting the data
on to a server. The SDK is developed for Mobile platforms (iOS and
Android), XBOX, PS3 and PC.
Exhibit 6: Media and Enterprise Content Management
The Media team showcased the projects
carried out for some of our key media clients while the ECM team presented the
CQ implementation work done and other capabilities. Customers showed a lot of
interest in CQ and Datamart.
The team involved in the exhibit
comprised of 14 members namely Navin, Prince, Mukesh, Nitin, Sachin, Sarvesh,
Shipra, Omit, Surendra, Moneesh, Sandeep, Kapil, Surender and Shishir.
Exhibit 8: Front-end Engineering
Team / FEET:
They had presented their ‘Web UI Design Portfolio’ and the ‘User
Experience Model’.
The portfolio expressed their expertise
in web development and the innovative UI designs of various projects they had worked on in User Experience, Web, and
Mobile divisions. The model that they displayed had the detailed process they
follow at Tavant, from the start of the UI projects until deployment.
The team consists of UI
professionals who take care of all the stages from the beginning of web or mobile
projects like requirement gathering, UI wireframes/ Design creation and
HTML/CSS conversion of design, and later coordinating with backend
developers in the integration. They
extend
their support across multiple projects across
the company.
Exhibit 9: Integrated SOPS in Manufacturing
This exhibit covered two topics viz. Predictive
Analytics in Warranty and Warranty on the Fly.
Predictive Analytics in Warranty included
Warranty Reserves Provisioning and Maintenance Contract Profitability
Management. The team demonstrated the use of the regression statistical
analytic algorithm to analyze the trend and predict the upcoming warranty costs
while including a number of factors. They also showed 'What-if-Analysis' on how
the maintenance contract profitability and other KPIs will be affected based on
the current costs & contract performance. The team also presented the key
tasks in warranty and its peripheral aftermarket processes that are managed
quickly and on the fly using light-weight mobility solutions on smartphones and
tablets.
The demonstrations drew a lot of
attention from the customers.
Exhibit 10: Capital Markets
Trading made easy was
the motto for the Capital Markets exhibit in this year’s TechConnect.
The theme showcased by the Capital
Markets team was 'Trading Made Easy'. A trading game was built where Tavant
employees could trade ideas instead of a specific stock. It started with the
release of an IPO of ideas to the employees and was played across 3 days. The
users had to choose & invest in an idea instead of following the
time-consuming conventional methods. The trading team, at the back-end, then
analyzed the stocks (based on social media interaction & sentiment
analysis) that formed the basket for each of the ideas and picked the ones that
made the most amount of money. A total of 8 ideas were put on offer, each idea
consisting of 2-3 stocks. Gamification was
also included, where bets were placed.
The trading game was extremely successful
as 300+ employees registered for it and customers showed interest in trying it
as a live product.

Devesh, Mittal, Rajesh, Vishal, Asheesh, Ramalakshmi, Geeta, Sudhish, Anju, Preethi,
Madhavan, Goutam, Mohneesh & Shanur.
Exhibit 11: Testing Automation
This team showcased a wide-variety of
projects including the work done on Quantum & One-Click Automation as part
of BI and Mobile Load Testing, Streaming Media Load Testing & Localization
as part of NFR.
Functional Automation and Mobile areas of
expertise included FIRE Framework (keyword and non-keyword approach), Hudson/Jenkin
Integration and Robotium
framework with Andriod
units.
The team
consists of Anil, Shriniwas, Roshni, Meera, Sarat,
Sreeja, Somsekhar,
Srinivas, Roshan, Keshava, Chidananda, Gajinder, Bhabani, Karikalan, Somesh,
Naveen, Bijesh, Manoj, Debasish, Rahul, Deepika, Ramesh, Namit, Rajeev,
Vamsi, and Deepa.
